DUNEDIN - The Downtown Dunedin Merchants Association and the city of Dunedin have rescheduled the 13th annual Mardi Gras celebration for Saturday, after a deluge of rain forced organizers to cancel the event Tuesday evening.

The festivities will be from 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The parade will start at 7 p.m. at the Dunedin Brewery on Douglas Avenue and travel south to the stadium. Most of the 60 floats have agreed to participate Saturday. Mardi Gras is one of the biggest events in Dunedin, attracting some 40,000 people.
