Eye, throat irritant forces restaurant evacuation

NEW PORT RICHEY - The International House of Pancakes at 4736 U.S. 19 was evacuated and several patrons taken to area hospitals after something in the air irritated their eyes and throats, New Port Richey police reported.
The restaurant was evacuated about 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The source of the irritant was under investigation Saturday afternoon.
Information about the number of patients taken to hospitals and their conditions was not immediately available.
