The developers building Audubon Condominiums in Feather Sound are primed to make donations to a local charity - if you buy a home from them.
After each closing on the freshly built condos, developer Ceebraid-Signal Corp will write a $150 check to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Sarasota/Tampa Bay. The organization, which fulfills wishes for kids with life-threatening medical conditions, serves Charlotte, De Soto, Hardee, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas and Sarasota counties. The donation will total $46,050 when all 307 condos are sold.
The one-, two- and three-bedroom condos, located off Ulmerton Road in mid Pinellas County, start at $110,800. More than 75 units have been sold since the first phase of units became available Feb. 4.
Adam Schlesinger, vice president of the development group in Stamford, Conn., said the Make-A-Wish donations will come out of profits and won't increase the cost of the condos. The company has made similar pledges at other residential, hotel and restaurant properties.
"When you hear what they do for young kids with terminal illnesses, you could just cry listening to those stories," Schlesinger said. "It's one thing to give them money, another thing to enlighten more people to what Make-A-Wish is all about."
