St. Petersburg's Raymond James Financial hopes to garner a spate of national publicity this week with its 25th annual institutional investors conference in Orlando.

The heads of about 280 public companies and analysts who cover their industries are expected to attend the three-day event at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. That translates to about 1,400 attendees.

Among the Tampa Bay area companies represented will be Tech Data, Jabil Circuit, Sykes Enterprises, Kforce Inc., Global Imaging Systems and First National Bankshares of Florida.

Also expected are numerous players with a sizeable presence in the bay area, many of them in the financial services arena: SouthTrust, AmSouth, Synovus and Capital One.

For curious investors who can't make the trek, many - but not all - of the half-hour presentations will be Webcast. To listen in, register in advance on Raymond James' Web site (www.rjcapitalmarkets.com) by clicking on conferences and events.
