ST. PETERSBURG - Chris Parker, the Bonefish Grill co-founder killed in a January boating accident, died of blunt trauma, according to the Pinellas-Pasco medical examiner.

Parker, 37, suffered multiple skull fractures and pelvic injuries when his high-powered speedboat overturned Jan. 25 at more than 100 mph, said Dr. Jon R. Thogmartin, chief medical examiner.

Toxicology test results show Parker's blood-alcohol level was 0.07, just under the 0.08 mark at which Florida law presumes impairment, according to the autopsy report.

Parker's boat hit a wave while alongside another boat shortly after 2 p.m. The boat flipped about a mile south of the Gandy Bridge. Two women aboard the boat survived. Rescue divers could not find Parker's body.

On Feb. 2, eight days after the crash, two men found Parker's body about a mile east of the St. Petersburg Pier.

The medical examiner said Parker had a laceration on his forehead and a broken left arm, as well as the other injuries. He was identified through fingerprints.
