CLEARWATER - Police arrested two men in connection with a robbery and an attempted holdup in the city Wednesday night.

Deion L. Gracia, 20, and Eric A. Little Jr., 18, both of Largo, were arrested on charges of armed robbery and attempted armed robbery. Police said Gracia, who had a gun in his waistband, robbed Payless Shoes, 2100 Gulf-to-Bay-Blvd., about 8:20 p.m. He then jumped into a getaway car driven by Little, police said.

No one was injured in the holdup and employees called police. Less than 10 minutes later, an officer spotted Little, with what looked to be a gun in his hand, standing at the front door of La Reyna De Michoacan, an ice cream shop at 1915 Drew St, police said. Officers took Little into custody, then saw Gracia leaving the area in the getaway car, police said. He also was taken into custody.

Police are investigating if the pair is responsible for a Monday night robbery at a Nextel store at 2643 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd.
