ORLANDO - Tyronn Lue lessened Tracy McGrady's load.

Led by Lue's 20 points, including eight in a row down the stretch, the Magic defeated the Hawks 101-96 Friday night.

McGrady led all scorers with 28 points, but it was the 6-foot Lue who came up big in the final 1:42. He had 12 of his points in the fourth quarter.

"That's a luxury to have, when guys are not afraid to take those big shots," McGrady said. "We know they're going to load up on me. Ty was fortunate to knock down a couple for us."

Jason Terry's three-point play with 1:56 left put the Hawks ahead 92-91. Lue answered with a 3 and free throw, but the Hawks responded with consecutive field goals for a 96-95 lead.

Lue scored, then made two free throws to put Orlando ahead 99-96 with 11.6 seconds left. After a timeout, Terry, who finished with 22 points, missed a layup and Orlando's Sean Rooks grabbed the rebound and was fouled. He made both free throws for the final margin.

KNICKS 109, RAPTORS 103: Stephon Marbury had 35 points and Nazr Mohammed had a season-high 20 points and 18 rebounds to make coach Lenny Wilkens a winner in his return to Toronto. Fans booed Wilkens, who was fired by the Raptors last season, during his introduction. Vince Carter had 32 points and nine assists for the Raptors, who have lost 11 of 12.

SPURS 113, MAVS 100: Tony Parker scored 25, Hedo Turkoglu added 21 and host San Antonio held off Dallas' fourth-quarter comeback. Dirk Nowitzki, held to four points in the first three quarters, went 7-for-9 in the fourth for 17 points as the Mavericks slashed a 26-point deficit to 95-90 with almost three minutes remaining. Rasho Nesterovic passed to Malik Rose for a layup, then blocked Antawn Jamison's reverse layup. Manu Ginobili was fouled on the same play and made both free throws to put San Antonio ahead 103-92.

ROCKETS 112, WOLVES 109: Yao Ming scored 27 and Steve Francis added 25 for visiting Houston. Minnesota had a chance to tie with 3.4 seconds left, but Troy Hudson's 3-pointer hit the front of the rim. The Timberwolves had a second chance with 3.1 seconds to go after Adrian Griffin missed two free throws, but Kevin Garnett's straightaway 3-point attempt was off. Garnett had 32 points and 18 rebounds, and Sam Cassell had 25 points and 13 assists to lead Minnesota.

CAVS 88, HORNETS 85: LeBron James scored 19 and Carlos Boozer had 18 for visiting Cleveland. James hit a 3-pointer with 1:22 left to put Cleveland ahead 84-83, and Boozer made a pair of free throws with six seconds remaining for the final margin. Jamal Mashburn's long-range fade was off the mark for New Orleans.

PACERS 96, JAZZ 88: Ron Artest scored eight of his 17 in the fourth quarter and Reggie Miller hit a 3-pointer with 24.9 seconds left to lift visiting Indiana. Jermaine O'Neal had 30 points and 10 rebounds and Fred Jones scored 10 for the Pacers, who blew a 15-point lead and needed to rally for their fourth straight win. Andrei Kirilenko had 19 points, nine rebounds and five blocks for Utah.

CELTICS 94, WIZARDS 90: Paul Pierce scored 24, grabbed 10 rebounds and had eight assists to lead host Boston to its fourth straight win. Ricky Davis scored 13 of his 17 in the second half and Mark Blount added 17 points for the Celtics, whose streak is their longest under interim coach John Carroll. They won five straight in December under Jim O'Brien. Gilbert Arenas led Washington with 26 points.

RAPTORS: Veteran point guard Rod Strickland, who received his release from the Magic this month, signed.

RODMAN BACK IN ABA: Dennis Rodman will rejoin Long Beach in the ABA championship game Tuesday night. Rodman was released two weeks ago to pursue tryouts with NBA teams. The 42-year-old played two games for the Jam.
