Georgia shocks No. 1 Vols

NASHVILLE - Janese Hardrick made a driving layup with .9 seconds left in overtime, and No. 20 Georgia stunned top-ranked Tennessee 68-66 Saturday night to advance to the SEC tournament championship.

The Vols (26-3) never trailed in overtime until Alexis Kendrick hit a 3-pointer with 45 seconds left to put Georgia ahead 66-63.

Tennessee responded with a 3-pointer by Brittany Jackson. But Hardrick drove straight to the basket when the Bulldogs (22-8) got the ball back.

Kendrick finished with 16 points. Ebony Felder and Christi Thomas had 12 apiece and Cori Chambers 10.

Shyra Ely led Tennessee with 27 points and 12 rebounds, and Tasha Butts, who 17 points, forced overtime when she made a leaner in the lane with six-tenths of a second left to make it 57-57.

NO. 21 VANDY 78, NO. 15 LSU 66: The visiting Commodores jumped out to a big first-half lead and held on in the end. ACC tournament

NO. 2 DUKE 77, WAKE 59: Iciss Tillis scored a season-high 26 to lead the Blue Devils in the quarterfinals in Greensboro, N.C.

Brittany Hunter added 12 points for the top-seeded Blue Devils (25-3), trying to win their fifth straight tournament title.

All-American Alana Beard, who averages nearly 21 points, scored just nine on 4-of-12 shooting.

NO. 10 UNC 64, VIRGINIA 45: Nikita Bell scored 18 for the Tar Heels, and the Cavs had a record-low shooting performance. Virginia shot 13-for-60, setting tournament records for worst field-goal percentage (21.7) and fewest field goals.

In UNC news, Camille Little, a 6-foot-1 forward, is the ACC's leading rebounder and the AP rookie of the year in the ACC.

MARYLAND 62, FSU 47: Shay Doron scored 16 to lead the Terps. Lauren Bradley scored 10 as the only one of the Seminoles (14-14, 7-9) in double figures.

N.C. STATE 45, CLEMSON 43: Kaayla Chones scored 13 and had 12 rebounds to lead the Wolfpack. Lakeia Stokes led all scorers with 23 for Clemson and was the only Tiger in double figures.

C-USA tournament

NO. 11 HOUSTON 67, MARQUETTE 59: Chandi Jones scored 14 of her 20 in the second half for the Cougars in the semifinals in Fort Worth, Texas. Houston, which advanced to its first conference title game, equaled a school record for wins in a season (26). It plays TCU today.

NO. 16 TCU 69, LOUISVILLE 59: Sandora Irvin had 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Horned Frogs, who advanced to the title game for the second straight season.

NO. 7 LA. TECH 81, TULSA 57: Amber Obaze scored 19 to help the host Techsters win a third straight WAC regular-season title.

NO. 12 STANFORD 80, CAL 55: Nicole Powell had 16 points to lead the Cardinal into the semifinals of the Pac-10 tournament in San Jose, Calif.

FLA. TECH 92, FLA. SOUTHERN 88 (OT): Danise Fequiere scored a career-high 20 to propel the Panthers in Winter Park. They meet Rollins in today's championship. Tech's Laurissa Reynolds to hit a 15-foot jumper at the buzzer to send the game into OT.

ROLLINS 74, ECKERD 53: Meredith Cook had 10 points and 14 rebounds for the Tritons in a losing effort.
