Johnson won in a season-best 7.36 seconds to equal Greg Foster's 17-year-old U.S. record.
Long jumper Savante Stringfellow leaped 27 feet, 63/4 inches to give the United States a third gold medal to match Russia in titles entering today's final day.
Yelena Isinbayeva (15-111/4) regained the world mark in the pole vault, beating American Stacy Dragila, who set a North American record of 15-91/4 to earn silver.
Tatyana Lebedeva won the triple jump with a record 50-43/4.
DIVING: PHU grad takes juco title
Cammie Voss, a freshman at Indian River Community College and a Palm Harbor University graduate last year, won the 1-meter and 3-meter titles at the National Junior College Athletic Association championships at IRCC in Fort Pierce. She helped IRCC win the women's national title, and the school's men also won.

TENNIS: Roddick knocked off
No. 4 seed Vincent Spadea solved the powerful serve of Andy Roddick and beat the U.S. Open champion 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 6-4 in a semifinal at the Franklin Templeton Classic in Scottsdale, Ariz. Spadea faces No. 7 seed Nicolas Kiefer, a 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 winner over Victor Hanescu, in today's final.
DUBAI OPEN: Top-ranked Roger Federer beat Jarkko Nieminen 7-6 (9-7), 6-2 and advanced to today's final against Feliciano Lopez, who defeated Mikhail Youzhny 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 to reach his first final.
