MELBOURNE - An elderly Brevard County man was killed when a boat struck his sailboard on the Indian River Lagoon.
William F. Lewis, 70, of Grant died Friday after he collided with a 31-foot cabin cruiser near the Melbourne Causeway, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said.
No charges have been filed against boat operator Steven Shaw, 23, of Stuart and passenger Jordan Caylor, 23, of Ocala. The investigation is continuing. Caylor's family owns the boat.
