The Museum of Science and Industry is usually a haven for kids, but once a month it turns into a nightlife destination for grown-ups.

At the museum's Martini Max event, adults can sip cocktails, ride a Segway scooter and try out some of the museum's exhibits, including the high-wire bicycle.

There's music, banter by host Sterling Powell, gourmet pizza and other nibbles, an art exhibit and a chance to see James Cameron's Ghost of the Abyss in the IMAX Dome Theater. It all starts at 5:30 p.m. Friday and continues until 10. Admission including two cocktails or one cocktail and the film is $20. MOSI members get in for $15. MOSI is at 4801 E Fowler Ave., Tampa. RSVP (813) 987-6000 or www.mosi.org
