Xpress, the Coolest Section of the St. Petersburg Times, is the home for features, news and views of interest to young readers. Most of the work in Xpress, which appears on Mondays in Floridian, is produced by the Times' X-Team. The team of journalists ages 9-17 from around the Tampa Bay area is selected every year at the end of the school year to serve during the following school term. The current team of 12 was chosen out of 150 applicants. Watch for X-Team application forms in Xpress during the month of May.

In January, Tampa Bay area students shared their favorite places. But our pages couldn't hold all the entries. So now we are publishing more favorite places for you to enjoy. Take a trip to the ocean floor, relax by yourself in the park or scoot along the ice at a hockey rink. And if you would like to see your good work published here, please see the instructions below.

Xpressions, our monthly showcase for the art, writing and photography of students through the 12th grade, is looking for your work! Xpressions appears the last Monday of each month inside Floridian.
Please read the following instructions before submitting your work, which must be based on the designated themes.
APRIL: OPEN THEME - Send us your creative work (art, words or photography) depicting the topic of your choice. Deadline: Postmark April 7.
MAY: YOUR MOST PRIZED POSSESSION - It could be a family heirloom, the first tooth that you lost or a homerun ball. In art, words or photograph tell what makes it so special to you. Please, no pets or people. Deadline: Postmark May 5.
JUNE: OPEN THEME - Send us your creative work (art, words or photography) depicting the topic of your choice. Deadline: Postmark June 2.
Artwork must be on white, unlined paper, with the medium stated on the back (oil, pastel, crayon, etc.). Be sure to include your Name, Age, Name of School and Grade, Your Address, Zip Code, Phone Number with Area Code and Your E-Mail Address. Your work will not be considered without all of this information.
IMPORTANT: Stories must be no longer than 150 words. We will return only artwork and only if you indicate that you want it back.
