Owens hearing today

Terrell Owens' hearing to determine if he can become a free agent is scheduled to be heard today. If Owens wins, Philadelphia likely would get him.

The Eagles reportedly agreed to a contract with Owens that included a $10-million signing bonus before he was traded from San Francisco to Baltimore for a second-round pick March 4.

The receiver was prevented from becoming a free agent when the NFL Management Council ruled his agent, David Joseph, failed to void the remaining years of his contract with the 49ers by a Feb. 21 deadline.

GIANTS: Former Browns offensive lineman Barry Stokes signed. It came a week after New York signed Shaun O'Hara, who also played for the Browns. Stokes, a 6-foot-4, 310-pounder, started 13 games at left tackle last season and 17 the year before at left guard, including a playoff game.
