TAMPA - Two boats valued at a total of $169,000 were stolen over the weekend from Don's Boat Sales, 5000 W Gandy Blvd.

One of the boats was once owned by baseball player Derek Bell.

A witness saw two people enter Don's Boat Sales fenced lot early Saturday and drive away a few minutes later in two black Ford pickups towing the boats.

Police say the pair cut a lock to get into the lot.

The boats are a 2002 33-foot boat called Cigarette Cafe, white with a blue top and twin Mercury 250-horsepower engines, and a 1989 26-foot boat with the name Custom Freedland Center, white with a blue top and twin Yamaha 150-horsepower engines.

Anyone with information can call the police at 276-3200.
