The Sarasota woman who went to Iraq as a human shield is the subject of a documentary showing Saturday in Ybor City.

Faith Fippinger, 63, was one of about 250 human shields from 30 countries to protest the war in Iraq a year ago. When she returned she was threatened with fines for violating U.S. sanctions against travel to Iraq. She is now preparing to serve a three-month federal prison sentence for trespassing at Fort Benning, Ga., in a November demonstration against U.S. policies in Latin America.

Human Shield, directed by Holmes Beach resident Debra Hussong, will be shown as part of the Ybor Festival of the Moving Image. It plays at 1:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Theater at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Palm Avenue and 15th Street. Tickets are $5, or eight-day festival passes are $100. To get information or purchase tickets, call 813 253-7674 or go to The documentary will also be shown at the Tampa Bay Film Festival April 23-25.
