MINNEAPOLIS - The Vikings signed two-time Pro Bowl punter Darren Bennett to a two-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Bennett, a native of Perth, Australia, had spent his entire nine-year career with San Diego, which he joined in 1995 after a 12-year career in Australian Rules Football.
Bennett, 39, averaged 41.9 yards last season and 43.8 during his career. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 1995 and 2000 and was chosen as the punter on the NFL's Team of the Decade for the 1990s.
RAVENS: Linebacker Adalius Thomas was re-signed to a three-year deal.
He started 11 games last season, playing in 13, before breaking his elbow in a collision with teammate Ray Lewis on Dec. 7. He finished with 34 tackles on defense and 23 on special teams. He also blocked a kick.
