NEW YORK - A spinoff of its hit cartoon Dora the Explorer and a comedy that stars Julia Roberts' niece are among nine new programs ordered by Nickelodeon for next season.

Go, Diego, Go will feature Dora's rough-and-tumble cousin, while 13-year-old Emma Roberts, who is the daughter of Eric Roberts, will star in Unfabulous as a girl who uses her own music to help her through life.

Whoopi Goldberg also has created a series for the kids' cable channel about an all-girl soccer team, and Nickelodeon is devising a new series for Jamie Spears, a successful member of the All That cast.

Another program, Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, will offer insider tips on how to survive middle school.

Former Sex and the City actor Kristin Davis will be the voice of Miss Spider in a series, Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends, based on a children's book.

The new series will be slotted into Nickelodeon's schedule to replace reruns, meaning no current series will be canceled.
