LARGO - Detectives are seeking the public's help in finding a man who tried to rob a bank on Ulmerton Road on Thursday.

The man entered the Bank of America, 6599 Ulmerton Road, about 2:20 p.m. and approached a teller window. He said he wanted to make a withdrawal, then took out a note demanding money. He did not show a weapon or imply that he had one.

The teller refused to give him cash, and the robber left the building. Witnesses described him as a white man, about 29 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 175 pounds. He had short, dirty blond hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a white ball cap with a red brim, a white T-shirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information can call the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office at 582-6200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477 (TIPS).
