Korean wins Futures event

OLDSMAR - Jimin Kang of Seoul, South Korea, made a 15-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole for a one-stroke victory over countrywoman Seon-Hwa Lee of Chonan in the $65,000 Tampa Bay's Next Generation Classic at East Lake Woodlands Golf & Country Club.

Kang, who finished at 8-under 208, won $9,100 in the Futures Tour event.

Jenny Gleason of Clearwater tied for sixth at 214 to win $2,220. Kelly Lagedrost of Brooksville tied for 13th (219, $1,123), Jan Kleiman of Lakeland tied for 46th (225, $266) and amateur Brittany Lincicome of Seminole tied for 53rd (226).

NATIONWIDE TOUR: Jimmy Walker birdied four of the last five holes to shoot 7-under 65 and win the Louisiana Open in Broussard by one stroke. He won $85,500 to move atop the tour's money list. The top 20 on the list at the end of the season earn PGA Tour cards.

EUROPEAN PGA: Sweden's Christopher Hanell won his first tour title, shooting 1-under 71 for a one-stroke win at the Madeira Island Open in Santo da Serra, Madeira Islands. He shot 4-under 284.
