Police seeking suspect in UF student's killing

GAINESVILLE - Police were hunting Sunday for a suspect connected to the murder of a University of Florida student.

Police said senior Premal Dagly, 21, of Davie, was beaten and stabbed, and his body was found about 25 yards from his partially burned out gold Honda early last Wednesday.

Officials were looking for former UF student Frankie Silvestri, 22, Gainesville police Sgt. Keith Kameg said Sunday. Kameg said officials are "aggressively" searching for Silvestri, whom they believe is still in Florida.

Another suspect, Daniel Pistorino, 20, was arrested Thursday and charged as an accessory to the murder. Police said Silvestri owed Dagly money, and an argument over that debt may have led to the killing. Pistorino told police he was in the car when Dagly was killed, and helped Silvestri dump the body near Williston, about 20 miles from Gainesville. Pistorino said they bought gasoline to try to set the car on fire to destroy the crime scene, Kameg said.

Dagly's body was found after a passer-by noticed the car.
