Women: Baylor questions review

NORMAN, Okla. - Baylor wants an explanation from the NCAA.

The Bears want to know why officials reviewed replays of the final seconds of their loss to Tennessee in the Midwest Region on Sunday night, put time back on the clock and gave the Vols what proved to be two game-winning free throws.

"Baylor University has been in communication with the Big 12 Conference and the two parties will jointly request a review and clarification of the events surrounding the controversial finish of Sunday night's Baylor-Tennessee game from the NCAA women's basketball championship committee," Baylor athletic director Ian McCaw said Monday.

Baylor lost 71-69 when Tasha Butts hit two free throws after officials called a foul on Baylor guard Jessika Stratton after time expired.

Officials huddled after the buzzer and reviewed the replay on a courtside television monitor to see if the foul came before time ran out.

The clock was reset to show 0.2 seconds.

Butts went to the line and sank both shots.
