GAINESVILLE - Ben Harrison scored the winning run on the third error of the 11th inning as Florida rallied with two runs to beat Florida State 7-6 on Wednesday night.

Leadoff hitter Adam Davis singled then reached second on a throwing error to start the rally for Florida (25-5). After a strikeout, Davis tied the score on Harrison's single before the second error of the inning by second baseman Ryne Malone put two on base.

After a groundout put both runners in scoring position, Stephen Barton drove in the winning run when shortstop Stephen Drew booted a ground ball, allowing Harrison to score.

Malone had given the Seminoles (21-8) the lead in the top of the 11th with a leadoff homer.

Darren O'Day (3-1) held the Seminoles to two runs on four hits in three innings. Tyler Chambliss (0-1) gave up two unearned runs on two hits in 21/3 innings.

Since 1984, Florida is 4-0 against Florida State in extra-inning games.

STETSON 11, B-CC 6: The host Hatters scored seven runs in the seventh inning, all with two outs. Stetson (18-11) broke out of an offensive slump with a 15-hit performance to help snap a three-game skid. The Wildcats fell to 17-14.

SCHEDULE CHANGE: Florida State and Texas A&M canceled a home-and-home football series in 2005 and 2006 because of scheduling conflicts, the schools said. Both teams needed an extra home game for the season that they were serving as the road team. Texas A&M was the host in 2005. The schools were unable to flip-flop the games because of FSU's scheduling conflicts related to the expansion of the ACC. Neither team has signed a replacement.

STAFF CHANGE: Former Red Sox minor leaguer Michael Lynch was hired as athletic director at Boston University. Lynch also will continue as assistant vice president of development for athletics, his job since arriving at the school in 2000. He replaces Gary Strickler, who is retiring at the end of the school year after 16 years as athletic director.

Lynch graduated in 1990 from Rollins College, where he was an All-America pitcher. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers and later played in the Red Sox organization. Later, he was a baseball coach at Union College from 1993 to '97, then left for Miami. He helped direct a fund-raising campaign that built the current basketball home of the Hurricanes.

SOFTBALL: Florida defeated visiting Auburn 11-3 for the third time in two days for its first conference series sweep of the season. The Gators (34-6, 11-4 SEC) rallied from two down in the first inning. Auburn is 26-7, 8-4.

SWIMMING: FSU earned two honors, Neil Harper being named ACC Coach of the Year and Emma Dutton being named ACC Swimmer of the Year.
