Clearwater names Firefighter of the Year

CLEARWATER - A two-year department veteran has been named Clearwater Firefighter of the Year. Douglas Swartz developed the department's first Honor Guard in 2002 and founded its December food basket program that helped 60 families this last holiday season. Swartz was nominated for the honor by his supervisors and selected by Fire Chief Rowland Herald.
