CLEARWATER - Police were searching Thursday for a man who committed a carjacking with a steak knife. About 10:40 a.m., the man approached a 55-year-old woman at the Cleveland Plaza, 1201 Cleveland St., and told her that his car had broken down, police said.

He asked for a ride back to his car, and the woman agreed. When the woman got to Scott Street, the man pulled out a knife and forced her out of the car, a green Mitsubishi. She got out, and the man drove off.

The woman was not injured but was shaken up, police said. A detailed description of the man was not available Thursday.
