Kenseth times final pass well

FORT WORTH, Texas - Matt Kenseth took the lead from Bobby Hamilton Jr. just before a caution flag with six laps left and went on to win the NASCAR Busch Series race Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway.

As Kenseth was passing under Hamilton in Turn 3 on Lap 195 of the O'Reilly 300, Tracy Hines spun on the frontstretch, taking out Kasey Kahne. By the time the caution came out and the field was frozen, Kenseth had completed the pass in his Ford. NASCAR reviewed replays to confirm the pass, which gave Kenseth his first lead.

After a red flag, Kenseth was strong on the restart with three laps left and beat pole-sitter Kyle Busch in a Chevrolet.

"I had a really pushing car all day, I'm surprised we won it," Kenseth said.

FORMULA ONE: Michael Schumacher won his third straight pole this season at the inaugural Bahrain Grand Prix in Sakhir. The six-time F1 champion was timed 1 minute, 30.139 seconds on the new 3.4-mile Bahrain International Circuit. Ferrari teammate Rubens Barrichello was second in qualifying for today's race.

NHRA: Scott Kalitta earned his first No. 1 qualifying position in Top Fuel in more than four years at the SummitRacing.com Nationals in Las Vegas. Kalitta covered the quarter-mile in a track-record 4.472 seconds at 333.74 mph. Tony Pedregon (Funny Car) and Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) also topped their divisions.
