PORT RICHEY - A 49-year-old homeless woman died Thursday night after a camp in a wooded area off Siesta Lane, near U.S. 19, was engulfed in flames, police said. The woman's name had not been released Monday because police were trying to reach her family. Port Richey Police Chief Bill Sager said the woman might have started a fire to keep warm. The area she was staying in is extremely dry, he said, and it was windy that night. Her body was found after the flames were extinguished.
