ZEPHYRHILLS - A 38-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, accused of molesting a 14-year-old girl.

Roger Simmonds Jr. of 5215 First St. in Zephyrhills entered the teen's bedroom Wednesday morning and began touching and kissing her, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office reported. The girl told deputies she asked Simmonds to leave and later reported the incident to her parents.

Simmonds was being held Thursday at Land O'Lakes Jail on charges of lewd or lascivious molestation in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Two sought in gunpoint robbery of hotel clerk

WESLEY CHAPEL - Sheriff's deputies are searching for two men who robbed a clerk at gunpoint at the Holiday Inn Express on State Road 54 about 2 a.m. Thursday.

The robbers appeared in the motel's breakfast room and demanded money from the clerk, a sheriff's report said. One was wielding a black handgun, the clerk told deputies. The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash from the motel's cash drawer, and the robbers fled, the report said.

The robbers are thought to be white men in their early 20s, the sheriff's report said. The clerk told deputies they were wearing black, hooded "ninja" suits but appeared to have light-colored eyes and fair complexions.
