Fort De Soto Park closed Tuesday morning and about 95 campers were evacuated during the examination of metal objects found during construction of a bridge along the main access road.

Crews were concerned that a bomb may have been left behind from when the park was used as a bombing range. After an old dredge pipe and other benign objects were found, the park reopened at 3 p.m.
