Bucs sign LB Thomas

By wire services
Published April 21, 2004

Tampa Bay signed free-agent linebacker Edward Thomas, who has played for Jacksonville and San Francisco but was out of the league least season. Terms were not released. Thomas (6 feet 1, 228 pounds) played in college at Georgia Southern and in the Canadian Football League for the Montreal Alouettes in 1997-99. He joined the 49ers during the 2000 offseason and played four games for them that season. He was cut, went to the Jags practice squad and was on the active roster for four Jacksonville games at the end of that season. He played all 16 games in 2001 and the first four of 2002 before being waived by Jacksonville.
