Friday Night Films: Grab a blanket and a picnic basket and head to Highlander Park for an outdoor showing of the black-and-white Marx Brothers classic A Night at the Opera at dusk tonight. The "stateroom sequence" is a riot. The park is at the Community Center. Admission is free. Next week, don't miss The Incredible Shrinking Man.
Improvisational comedy: Wild Rice will do a show at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Tarpon Springs Cultural Center, 101 S Pinellas Ave. Admission is $12 general, $10 for students and center members. For information, call (727) 942-5605.

PICNIC IN THE PARK: From 6 to 8 p.m. every Friday evening, the public is invited to bring meals to Largo Central Park and enjoy the new music-in-the-park sound system by candlelight. Table cloths, candles and music will be provided; you provide the dinner. Call (727) 586-7415.
PANCAKES: The Kiwanis Club of Dunedin is having an all-you-can-eat pancake fest Saturday and Sunday at Knology Park at Douglas Avenue and Beltrees Street. The pancakes are $4 a plate and will be served from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. On Saturday, a yard sale with about 100 vendors will be held in the stadium parking lot. EVENT: First Presbyterian Church of Dunedin is having a 2004 First Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 455 Scotland St. The event features a yard sale, moonwalk, petting zoo, puppet shows and other fun activities. For information, call (727) 722-2318.
TRYOUTS: A "Draft Party" will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Southwest Recreation Complex at 13120 Vonn Road for people with disabilities who are interested in becoming tomorrow's Special Olympic athletes. Special Olympics Pinellas County also will recruit people interested in becoming volunteer coaches. The day will be filled with sports demonstrations. There also will be tryouts, physicals and food.
