CONSTRUCTION

Robyn Elko has been promoted to new home information manager for Beazer Homes, Tampa. Elko was information systems manager.

Dianne Jacob has been named to Gov. Jeb Bush's first Fellows Program Screening Committee, a program designed to provide Florida university students with leadership training and development. Jacob is director of business development for Hardin Construction, Tampa.

ENGINEERING

Lisa Gibson has been named director of marketing for Driggers Engineering Services Inc., Clearwater. Gibson was marketing manager for Turner Construction Co., Tampa.

Joseph Peters received NASA's Silver Snoopy Award for his outstanding support of the space shuttle main engine program. Peters is a Boeing-Rocketdyne senior quality assurance representative for the space shuttle main engine integrated product team at Honeywell, Clearwater.

FINANCIAL

R. Troy Atlas has been promoted to branch manager of Raymond James & Associates' Tampa office. Atlas was divisional marketing director for AIG SunAmerica, Tampa.

Dale C. Christensen has been named chief equity strategist and member of the investment committee for Spencer International Advisors Inc., Clearwater. Christensen was partner and managing director with Warburg Pincus Asset Management, New York.

INSURANCE

Jack Dougherty has been promoted to director of operations-Eastern region for Mercury Insurance Group, Clearwater. Dougherty was state administrator for Florida and New Jersey.

Leonard T. Lincoln has been named in-house legal counsel for Alpha-Omega Title Co., Tampa. Lincoln was president of Lincoln Title Services, Tampa.

LEGAL

The law firm of Butler Pappas Weihmuller Katz Craig LLP, Tampa, has named Brian D. Webb and Hobart M. Hind Jr. partners. Webb practices law in the areas of casualty defense, third-party liability coverage and extra-contractual matters; Hind practices in the areas of large property loss subrogation and complex subrogation defense. Both were senior associates.

ORGANIZATIONS

The Tampa Bay area chapter of Meeting Professional International announced new members to its board of directors: Tara Liaschenko, director of education; Crystal Bruce, director of public relations; and Laurie Mask, director of chapter of the year. Liaschenko is chief executive of the Link Event Professionals Inc., St. Petersburg; Bruce is senior meeting planner for Raymond James Financial Services, St. Petersburg; and Mask is a national accounts manager for HelmsBriscoe, Tampa.

PUBLISHING

Kevin Halewood received a bronze medallion of excellence in writing at the 2003 International Automotive Media Awards. Halewood is publisher/editor for Sun King Publishing, Clearwater.

REAL ESTATE

Henry H. Blanton received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Florida Gulfcoast Commercial Association of Realtors. Blanton is president of Alliance Exchange Corp., Odessa.

RECRUITMENT

James A. Mergens has been named vice president of the executive benefits practice for Aon Consulting Inc., Tampa. Mergens was president of Certified Estate Advisors Inc., Tampa.

STORAGE SERVICES

David P. Berg has been appointed to the board of directors of PODS Inc., Clearwater. Berg is vice president and associate general counsel for Best Buy.
