A small shrine has been established at the site of the destroyed Yezidi village of Kalabadri near Duhok in Northern Iraq. The village and six surrounding villages were destroyed by Saddam in 1987, forcing more than 1000 Yezidi families into a collective. Saddam gave most of their land to Arabs. The practice was common at that time in Iraq and it's estimated that 4500 Yezidi villages were destroyed.
