The Barracudas

The Barracudas, who have been entertaining the Tampa Bay area for 14 years with zesty 1960s party music, will play their last concert Friday in St. Petersburg. Drummer Pat Renaire is leaving Florida, and the guys, guitarist Bob Carter, keyboardist Scott Struthers and bassist Maurice Brazil, won't go on without him.

The quartet has been a staple of the local scene, entertaining crowds at festivals, dances and events such as Ribfest and Shakespeare in the Park for years. The music is a revved up mixture of 1960s American dance music and British Invasion - think Kinks, Stones and the Beatles.

Don't let these guys go out without a bang.

The Barracudas perform at the Roll, Rock and Remember festivities, a benefit for Help-A-Child Inc., at 8 p.m. Friday at the Coliseum, 535 Fourth Ave. N, St. Petersburg. $15. (727) 892-5202.
