DADE CITY - Police have released the identity of the security guard shot to death Friday while showing off his gun to his 15-year-old nephew.

Seth Greene, 24, was in his apartment on 37208 Majestic Oak Court just before 7:30 p.m., Dade City Police Chief Phil Thompson said.

Greene was talking with his nephew when he handed him his .357-caliber revolver to let him look at it, Thompson said. The gun went off, shooting Greene in the chest. He was taken to Pasco Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead. Thompson said the shooting appears accidental, but they are asking the State Attorney's Office to assist in the investigation.

An autopsy was to be performed Saturday by the Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner.
