CLEARWATER - Police were searching Monday for a man who held up the Bank of America at 1600 McMullen-Booth Road N. The man walked into the bank at 3:19 p.m., placed a white bag on the counter and demanded money. The man did not show a weapon, but the clerk complied with his demand, and he left with an undetermined amount of cash. No one was injured. Police believe the robber left in a car but did not have a good description late Monday. The robber is described as a black man standing about 5-8 with a stocky frame of about 230 pounds. He appeared to be in his 40s. He wore a white T-shirt, green pants and black work boots. Anyone with information about the robbery can call Clearwater police at 562-4080.
