Dr. Robert Blackburn, a board-certified family practice physician with All-American Medical Associates of Spring Hill, attended the American Osteopathic Association Doctor of Osteopath Day on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., on April 15.
Blackburn represented the Florida Society of the American College of Osteopathic Family Practitioners as president and the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association as a member of the board of directors.
Blackburn, his wife, Sarah, and approximately 1,300 physicians and medical students lobbied their state congressional leaders regarding professional liability insurance reform. They also lobbied for reauthorization of the higher education act to help students financially with the increasing cost of post-secondary education.
On April 16, Blackburn was invited to the presidential ballroom at the Capital Hilton Hotel to attend the association's council on federal health programs, which included several legislative updates.
Real estate sales associates Susan Garrett and Marlene Shaw of ERA Pearson Realty, 2178 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill, have received the "agent team production" award from ERA Franchise Systems for their production performance in total residential units closed in 2003.
With 111 residential units closed, Garrett and Shaw achieved outstanding results through teamwork. The award was announced in February at the ERA International Business Conference in Las Vegas.
