Jill Silverboard, who served five years as city manager in Destin, is the commission's choice to become Madeira Beach's next manager. Silverboard, 40, ranked highest of four candidates who interviewed Tuesday with the City Commission.
In Destin, a beachfront destination in Florida's Panhandle, Silverboard engineered numerous grants and supervised 77 full-time employees.
She rated her people skills and organizational abilities as her greatest strengths. "If you hire me, you'll look back in three years and say it was the best decision you ever made," Silverboard told commissioners during interviews Tuesday. The city will begin negotiations with Silverboard on a contract and initiate a background check.
