TAMPA - The TECO Line Streetcar System will extend operating hours tonight and Thursday to help hockey fans get to and from the St. Pete Times Forum for Games 1 and 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The streetcar will operate for one additional hour after each game ends.
The streetcar serves the Centro Ybor Parking Garage, the Palm Avenue Garage in Ybor City, the Port Authority Garage in Channelside and the South Regional Parking Garage by the St. Pete Times Forum.
One-way fare is $1.50 for adults and 75 cents for seniors and children under 17. An unlimited ride pass is $3 for adults and $1.50 for seniors and children. Exact change is required.
Fare cards can be bought at the St. Pete Times Forum box office or upon boarding the street car.
TAMPA - A pep rally for Tampa Bay Lightning fans, hosted by Tampa and the St. Pete Times Forum, will start the Stanley Cup finals today.
The pep rally will start at 6 p.m. on the plaza at the Times Forum, say city officials. The rally will celebrate the Lightning's East Conference title before the team takes on the Calgary Flames in Game 1 of the finals.
Mayor Pam Iorio will proclaim today as Tampa Bay Lightning Day. Members of the City Council and Hillsborough County Commission will be present for the rally, which will be followed by a free viewing party starting at 8 p.m. with large screens on the plaza.
