School helps aspiring candidates

TAMPA - Registration for a June 5 political candidate school has been extended to June 3.

Sponsored by the Public Policy Program of the University of Florida Cooperative Extension Service and the League of Women Voters of Hillsborough County, the seminar will stress civil campaigning and feature workshops on volunteer management, image enhancement, marketing, civility, ethics and campaign finance accountability.

Instructors will include political consultants and public officials, including Pasco County Supervisor of Elections Kurt Browning and state Rep. Sandra Murman, R-Tampa. Registration is $45 and includes breakfast, lunch and materials.

Doors open at 8:15 a.m. at the Alfano conference center at 11606 N McKinley Drive, off Fowler Avenue across from the University of South Florida. To register or for more information, call (813) 744-5519 ext. 128.
