Calgary tourism folks followed their Flames hockey team to Tampa and sponsored a pancake luncheon Wednesday as an expression of goodwill between the two cities as the Lightning and the Flames battle for Lord Stanley's Cup.
"Calgary is known around the world for our friendly western hospitality, and one of our signature events is outdoor pancake events," said Joe Connelly, director of marketing and communications, Tourism Calgary.
"We wanted to visit in person, say congratulations, good luck and welcome citizens of Tampa Bay to a future visit to our great city,'' Connelly added.
