PIZZA, WINGS AND MORE: Munchies opened its second franchise on May 1 in the greater Brandon area. The new shop is at 11208 E Martin Luther King Junior Blvd. in Seffner. It serves New York style pizza and an original recipe for wings. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. The wings are the most popular item on the menu and the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce agrees: it voted that Munchies had the Best Wings and Best Sauce. The chain also serves burgers, subs, sandwiches and salads. Call 657-5600. The other shop is at 118 E Bloomingdale Ave., Brandon.

NEW BANK LOCATIONS: AmSouth Bank is scheduled to open at 1014 E Brandon Blvd., Brandon, on June 28. It provides personal finance, small business banking, commercial banking and financial investment assistance. Hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday in the lobby and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the drive-through. A new branch opened May 21 in Sun City Center at 131 S Pebble Beach Blvd. AmSouth employees have been making themselves known in the area by doing random acts of hospitality such as washing a windshield or buying a cup of coffee. Rosie Smith is the branch manager. Another AmSouth opened at 3414 Lithia Pinecrest Road in Valrico in December, and another is being built on FishHawk Boulevard in Lithia.

STEAKS AND CATFISH: Catfish Country, 706 E Brandon Blvd. in Brandon is now Yiannis Steak and Seafood. Same owner, different name, new items. T-bones and sirloins are on the menu along with catfish, grouper, shrimp, scallops, pasta, sandwiches and salads. Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Call 689-0246.

CLOSED IN BRANDON: Storehouse, a furniture store featuring contemporary furniture, rugs, lamps and accessories, including special order upholstery fabrics, closed at the end of April at 1912 W Brandon Blvd., Brandon.
