Anglers must have a snook stamp if a saltwater license is required. It is illegal to cast-net, spear or gig snook.

Catch and Release
Studies show that two percent of snook caught die after release. Set the hook quickly so it does not swallow the bait. Keep the fish in the water and use a pair of pliers to remove the hook. Barbless hooks simplify the process. Handle the fish as little as possible to increase its chance of survival.
