Xpress, the Coolest Section of the St. Petersburg Times, is the home for features, news and views of interest to young readers. Most of the work in Xpress, which appears on Mondays in Floridian, is produced by the Times' X-Team. The team of journalists ages 9-17 from around the Tampa Bay area is selected every year at the end of the school year to serve during the following school term. The current team of 12 was chosen out of 150 applicants. Watch for X-Team application forms in Xpress during the month of May.

Bucs Student Advisory Board
So, you think you can coach the Tampa Bay Buccaneers better than Jon Gruden? Well, you may not get the chance to do that, but you can be a member of the Bucs' 2004-05 Student Advisory Board. Board members serve as liaisons between their schools and the team and help improve the Tampa Bay area by participating in community service projects. During the one-year term, board members have the opportunity to attend home games, tour Raymond James Stadium and participate in Buccaneers charitable events. The 40 students selected for the board must be entering the 10th, 11th or 12th grade in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee, Orange, Pasco and Polk counties. For more information or an application, call 813 870-2700, ext. 274, or go to www.buccaneers.com The application deadline is June 20.
