ST. PETERSBURG - The Rev. Alan Bachert, pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church, recently celebrated the 35th anniversary of his ordination.

The Rev. Robert Steinke delivered the address at the June 6 service, which was followed by a reception for Bachert and his family. Bachert, a graduate of Concordia Seminary in Springfield, Ill., was ordained in June 1969 at St. Paul's in Aurora, Ill. He has served at churches in Illinois, Tennessee and Missouri, held positions with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod District, and been a hospital chaplain and adjunct professor. Bachert began serving Our Savior Lutheran Church, at 301 58th St. S, in 2001.
