By TERRY JONES
Published June 15, 2004

It took a couple of days, several field transfers and a number of rain delays, but the North Brandon Cardinals edged the East Point Yankees 9-8 Thursday night at the Bloomingdale Little League Field to capture the senior baseball division in the District 13 Tournament of Champions.

The Yankees led 4-1 after four innings when starting pitcher Brett Smith came out with an injury. Smith stayed in the lineup and was 3-for-4 with a home run.

Jim Alcaide came in to pitch for the Cardinals after four innings and recorded the win. Justin Bell took the loss for the Yankees.
