Search on for woman suspected in stabbing

TRILBY - Pasco County sheriff's deputies were on the lookout Wednesday for a woman they suspect stabbed a man during an argument at a convenience store.

Sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll said investigators think the woman, between 20 and 30 years old, was arguing about 1:30 p.m. with a man she knew outside the Cumberland Farms store at the U.S. 301 and U.S. 98 split north of Dade City.

During the dispute, the woman stabbed Kevin Brown, 27, of Flanders Road, Lacoochee, once in the upper chest with a filet knife, Doll said.

Investigators think a friend drove Brown to his mother's home in Lacoochee, and rescue crews were called. Brown was taken by helicopter to a Tampa hospital.

Doll said details were being sorted out late Wednesday afternoon, and Brown's condition was unknown. He apparently lost a large amount of blood, but Doll said investigators reported he was conscious and talking as he was airlifted.
