The quest for the Miss Florida crown begins Wednesday in St. Petersburg, as contestants from around the state gather at the Mahaffey Theater for preliminary competition leading to the finals June 26.
Who knows? One of them could become Miss America. It happened last year to Ericka Dunlap. She went on to win the Miss America title in Atlantic City.
The preliminary rounds start at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and continue nightly through the finals June 26. Tickets are $15 Wednesday and June 24, $35 June 25 and $45 June 26. The theater is at 400 First St. S, St. Petersburg. (727) 892-5767 or (727) 892-5700.
