1. Michael Schumacher won the event last year by 18.258 seconds over Kimi Raikkonen. The first two-time winner since it moved to Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2000, Schumacher has won seven of eight races this season.

2. Each entrant must enter two cars and drivers in all races of the season or face financial penalty. The field is limited to 12 two-car teams, but 10 two-car teams are expected this weekend.

3. The 3-liter, 183-cubic-inch engines can produce as much as 900 horsepower and a maximum RPM of 19,000.

4. The clockwise course uses part of the 2.5-mile oval, including the short chute between Turns 1 and 2, Turn 1 itself and the front straightaway. Cars enter the infield at Turn 4 for the road segment.

5. The race will last 73 laps (190.1504 miles) or a maximum of two hours.
