Outdoors awards for Times, Tomalin

The Outdoors Writers Association of America announced its annual awards in Spokane, Wash., recently and the St. Petersburg Times received first Honorable Mention in the category of Best Outdoors Page.
Outdoors editor Terry Tomalin received a second place in writing for his two-part series Go With the Flow, paddling an outrigger canoe from Florida to Bimini.
Tomalin also received third place for his three-part series Wind, Water and Tides, circumnavigating Pinellas County by a sea kayak.
