MONTREAL - Jon Rauch appreciates getting a second chance with the White Sox.

The right-hander was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday. In his previous stint with Chicago, Rauch drew criticism from general manager Kenny Williams and several teammates after he left the clubhouse before the end of a 5-1 loss to Anaheim on May 29.

"You have no idea, especially when somebody comes up to you and says, "Hey look, you're going back up,' " Rauch said. "The shock right there was more than enough, but it's nice to get another chance and see that they have some kind of faith in me."

The 6-foot-11 Rauch arrived at Olympic Stadium during Chicago's 4-2 loss to Montreal and threw in the bullpen in the eighth inning.

"He made a mistake," manager Ozzie Guillen said before the game. "I talked to the players, and we're going to treat him like a professional. He knows he made a mistake. He didn't kill anybody.
